Memorial Day (originally known as Decoration Day) is a federal holiday in the United States for honoring and mourning the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. From 1868 to 1970, it was observed on May 30. Since 1970, it is observed on the last Monday of May.
Volkstrauertag (German for “people’s day of mourning”) is a commemoration day in Germany two Sundays before the first day of Advent. It commemorates members of the armed forces of all nations and civilians who died in armed conflicts, to include victims of violent oppression.
Since 2009, September 5th has the official day for celebrating Danish deployed personnel. This includes not only soldiers, but also police, the emergency management agency and all other who have been deployed abroad on behalf of the Danish government.

In Latin American they have Dia de Los Mortos 01-02 November. Mexico is most well known for this day of remembrance, many other LATAM countries like El Salvador, Brazil, Guatemala, Ecuador, Belize, and more.
The National Memorial Service for War Dead (全国戦没者追悼式, Zenkoku Senbotsusha Tsuitōshiki’) is an official, secular ceremony conducted annually on August 15, by the Japanese government at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan. The ceremony is held to commemorate the victims of World War II. The first memorial ceremony was held on May 2, 1952.
Remembrance Sunday is held in the United Kingdom as a day to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts. Martyrs’ Day (Albanian: Dita e dëshmorve) is an Albanian holiday observed annually on May 5 for the remembrance of those who died for Albanian liberation during World War 2.
Again, we honor those that sacrificed in battle, in service, in loss, and now in remembrance.
